Sanford-Brown College-Farmington Hosts Fashion Show at New Britain Museum of American Art

Design and Merchandising Students to Debut “April in Paris” Fashion Show

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (April 17, 2012) – The Sanford-Brown College-Farmington fashion design and merchandising program will host a fashion show on Friday April 20, 2012 at the New Britain Museum of American  Art.  The “April in Paris” Fashion Show will feature one-of-a-kind garments inspired by current Parisian trends, designed by students and alumni.

The featured garments were selected by a panel of judges from Sanford-Brown College (SBC) - Farmington as part of a contest in which student and alumni designers submitted a sketch reflecting their best design ideas for the event. Models will walk the floor to showcase the top-20 selected ensembles, which fall into one of four categories – tailored, fresh-and-feminine, avant-garde and evening.

Any tickets purchased in advance of the show will be half-off if attendees bring a non-perishable food item to the SBC - Farmington campus.  All non-perishable food items will be donated to the food pantry at Hands on Hartford (

The New Britain Museum of American Art is located at 56 Lexington Street New Britain, CT 06052. Tickets will be sold at the door, or can be purchased in advance at SBC - Farmington, located at 270 Farmington Avenue, Suite 245. Tickets are $10 for the general public at door.
