SBI-White Plains - Brunch for Seniors

October 14, 2013 General 0 Comments

On October 4, 2013, four SBI-White Plains Medical Assistant students attended a brunch for seniors at the Carver Community Center, Portchester, NY.

They performed blood pressure, pulse and respiration checks and presented information about the importance of hypertension to the attendees.

Our students worked closely with Mr. Alex Chavarria, Community and Family Services Manager at the Center. According to Alex, the "seniors" and the staff were delighted with the students and have asked us to incorporate this activity for the first Friday of each month as a continuing event.

Our students completed their Service Learning Essays and they are filed in my office. You are welcome to read them. A special "thanks" to Ms. Sharon Panzarino (MA instructor) for organizing this Service Learning activity.
