SBC San Antonio Gets Involved at March of Dimes March for Babies

May 18, 2011 0 Comments

On Saturday May 7th, Mr. Parker, Director of Community and Alumni Outreach, and several students volunteered during the March of Dimes March for Babies, which was held at Sea World. Walking for March for Babies provides hope to the more than half a million babies born too soon each year. The money raised supports programs in the community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. And it funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten our babies. March of Dimes has been conducting walks since 1970 and has raised an incredible $2 billion to benefit all babies. Mr. Parker assisted with running the photo booth, which donated proceeds to the March of Dimes. Students performed duties such as handing out fresh fruit and water, playing games with the children, face painting, and registering guests. It was a great turn out for the March for Babies, there was live music, and the weather was perfect for an early morning walk.
