Sanford-Brown Institute-Garden City hosted community blood drive

More than 100 donors participated from SBI-Garden City alone (day & afternoon students & staff), resulting in the collection of 69 pints over the two-day period. When separated into components, this blood will help more than 200 very ill people.
Having this event right after the Memorial Day Weekend is a very appropriate time because it helps replenish the inventory which dips dramatically after a holiday weekend when so many people drive. This is one of two blood drives held each year at SBI-Garden City, which helps saves an average of 500 lives annually. Thank you to everyone who so generously participated in this great cause!
