The SBI-NY Career Services Department held the Winter2013 “Go for the Gold” themed Career Fair for Students and Alumni. Over 20 local businesses and healthcare organizations were registered to secure a booth package for this event. 16 organizations checked in including a total of 30 placement and human resources representatives from these companies who were looking to recruit students as volunteers for their volunteer programs as well as graduates/job seekers looking to secure a position as a healthcare professional! We knew this event was a true success when we discovered that there was one particular organization who joined us that interviewed a total of 50 graduates between the hours of 11am and 2:30pm!!
Some of the feedback we received from a company representative included: “Sanford-Brown Institute has some of the most prepared, well dressed, professional graduates that we have seen as opposed to other allied health schools. We look forward to the next Career Fair.”
In addition to the Career Fair was also another concurrent event for the student body called: “Dress for Success – Career Day”. The Career Services & Academics departments developed this event with the purpose of encouraging all students on campus to attend the Career Fair professionally dressed & to network with companies who may have had volunteer opportunities available to discuss as well as to discuss future career opportunities.
Thanks to the collaboration of all staff and faculty involved with planning these two events helped to make it a very SUCCESSFUL day at SBI-NY!
