Health schools to provide assistance to students who lose jobs while enrolled
Hoffman Estates, Ill., (July 23, 2009) – Sanford-Brown today announced the new Economic Assistance for Separated Employees (EASE) program. The EASE program is intended for currently enrolled Sanford-Brown students who were also working full-time and became displaced from their jobs while in school.
Fourteen of the 25 Sanford-Brown-affiliated schools nationwide are initially participating. A total of 21 campuses will be rolling this program out in the coming months. EASE will aid students who maintain satisfactory academic progress, covering up to 50 percent of the student’s monthly tuition payments during the time in which they remain enrolled and unemployed. The schools will cease to enroll students in the program as of December 31, 2009.
"We recognize in today’s economic environment that a portion of our students face some financial limitations and as a result, are working and going to school at the same time," said George Grayeb, senior vice president, Career Education Corporation (parent company of Sanford-Brown). "We are trying to identify additional means of assistance for our students during their studies and see EASE as a new resource that helps make it possible for them to continue working toward achieving their career goals even if they become displaced during their program."
The following is a list of schools launching the EASE program this month:
