SBI-Tampa Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

October 19, 2013

Sanford-Brown Institute Tampa to Participate in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
Let the FUN-draising begin!

Sanford Brown Tampa Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 1For the fifth year in a row, SBI Tampa campus will participate in the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides against Breast Cancer” walk in downtown Tampa on October 19, 2013.

The 5k walk is an annual event for the Tampa campus and for the next month, the campus will be holding a variety of fundraising events, many of which are created by the students, which include chance drawings, team t-shirt donations, penny wars and LOTS of food!

The first fundraiser, a hot-dog lunch sponsored by the Pharmacy Technician program, kicked off this week and included students & staff dressing in hot dog and mustard costumes to draw attention to the fundraiser. Stephanie Clippard, who took turns in both costumes, commented to a staff member afterward, “As embarrassed as I was, I enjoyed doing it!! Anything for the school. This school has really changed my life and I appreciate everything you have done and the rest of the staff. You make it so fun and enjoyable. I look forward to participating in the rest of the events.”

Sanford Brown Tampa Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 2The Making Strides walk is just one of the many charitable community events in which Sanford-Brown Institute – Tampa participates, and they hope to exceed the $2500 fundraising goal for the cause this year.
