Sanford Brown Fort Lauderdale Student Successfully Lands a Mentor and an Exciting Job OpportunityOn January 24, 2014, Dineen’s class hired Ms. Jane Weiner, RDH, to teach a weekend National Board Review course. During lunch break, Dineen introduced herself to Weiner and invited her to join her and her peers for lunch. They instantly bonded and Dineen exchanged contact information with Weiner and stayed in touch after the course ended. Dineen passed her Dental Hygiene Board Review Exam on the first attempt!

Weiner was the 2005 Philips/RDH Magazine Mentor of the Year and expressed an interest in mentoring Dineen. Weiner introduced Dineen to other dental professionals and eventually hired Dineen to be co-facilitator during Weiner’s National Board Review courses and Facebook facilitator for her company Jane Weiner, RDH Board Reviews Inc.

On August 2, 2014, Dentistry iQ published Dineen’s article “Through my eyes: A tale of mentorship.” The article is available online: www.dentistryiq.com/articles/2014/08/through-my-eyes-a-tale-of-mentorship.html.
