October 28, 2014 SBC-Fort Lauderdale, Veterinary Technology 0 Comments

The veterinary technology students at the Ft. Lauderdale campus of Sanford-Brown Institute (SBI) collaborated with Take Paws in a short video titled Take Paws: Sanford-Brown Vet Tech School with Dr. Monica Sastoque. Vet tech students and faculty along with clinical coordinator and instructor Dr. Sastoque were featured as they went about their day in the classroom.

In the video, which was published on YouTube on Oct. 5 and aired in a Take Paws episode, Dr. Sastoque shares the various techniques our students learn in the vet tech program at SBI. Students not only learn how to carefully and compassionately handle animals, run a front desk, and run lab tests, they also acquire good customer service skills for communicating with pet owners.

Take Paws is produced by Florida's Broward County Animal Care in partnership with BECON-TV (Broward Education Communications Network). The show is part of Animal Care’s effort to educate viewers about the importance of pet adoption as well as countless aspects of pet care, including choosing and training a pet and responsible ownership. The show airs at 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays on BECON-TV.
