On Friday April, 26 2013, Career Services hosted a Clinical Phlebotomy Workshop for Medical Assistant (MA) graduates.
Dr. Innocent (MA Instructor) along with Ms. Acosta, RMA (Career Services Advisor) hosted the workshop.
Topics reviewed included blood drawing techniques, capillary punctures and both butterfly and straight needles.
A total of 16 graduates ranging from 2005-2013 attended the workshop, with the majority of them already registered to take the RPT (Registered Phlebotomy Technician) Certification exam. Graduates use the time wisely to complete their requirements of 50 venipunctures and 25 capillaries.
These workshops have become a great way for graduates who need to complete their pre-requisites for this exam as well as for those graduates who want to continue to practice and perfect their technique.
