Sanford Brown Dallas Service LearningSanford-Brown Dallas students give back to the community through Service Learning

On a blustery day in late April 2013 at Lake Grapevine, a group of students from the Medical Assistant (MA) program at Dallas had the opportunity to give back to an underrepresented elderly community. The team was led by the school’s own Wania Frazier and Dr. Javaid and the students performed a series of glucose testing and taking vitals on several patients.

Physicians were on premises to report the findings and the students earned real hands on experience. Rachel Rosales, MA student, Sanford-Brown Dallas noted, “We were able to give back to the community but really we were the ones that benefited”.
