The Dot Mathias Award, named for the founder of Vision is Priceless, is given each year at the Foundation’s annual meeting. Vision is Priceless is a Jacksonville, FL non-profit organization whose mission is “To serve as the premier community resource for improving the vision health of First Coast children and adults through screening, referral, and education.”
Ms. Roberts has been working with Vision is Priceless for over six years. In cooperation with the Duval County School Board, Ms. Roberts brings MA and PT students to elementary schools to provide vision and hearing checks about twice monthly. She and her students screen an average of 550 students per visit! Ms. Roberts says she is honored to be recognized. “Good vision is crucial to education. Anything I can do to help students and young people succeed is very important to me.”
On campus, Aleatha Roberts serves as an example to all of the power of community service and service learning. Congratulations Aleatha!
