Healthcare Opportunities Beyond the Beaten Path
If you’ve been looking into opportunities in the healthcare field but haven’t found your niche, two fields you may have overlooked could be just what you’ve been searching for: Pharmacy Technology and Dialysis Technology. Interested in turning one day into day one of making a difference in your life and the lives of others? Enroll in one of these specialized programs at Sanford-Brown College – Phoenix.
If you respect the healthcare profession’s role in helping people, but would rather avoid interacting with blood and bodily fluids, check out the Pharmacy Technology program at SBC - Phoenix. This is a rapidly-growing field where opportunities are increasing at a faster rate than average, now through 2020.* Pharmacy Technicians help pharmacists fill and dispense prescriptions and ensure patients get exactly what the doctor ordered. Other responsibilities may include inventory and billing, interacting with customers, maintaining patient records, and pharmacy computing.
If you would like to work closely with patients and aren’t squeamish about the sight of blood, Dialysis Technology could be a good path for you. Dialysis is a treatment that helps prolong the lives of patients with end-stage kidney failure, which means their kidneys have lost most of their function. Dialysis does what their kidneys can’t do. It removes waste and excess fluid from their bodies, helps keep electrolytes in balance and controls blood pressure.** The Dialysis Technology program at SBC – Phoenix can help prepare you to be part of the dialysis medical team. Dialysis Technicians responsibilities range from operating and maintaining equipment to monitoring the patient’s condition and taking care of their needs during treatment.
