Sanford Brown Hillside students are going to health fairs throughout the city of Chicago in partnership with the American Kidney Fund. The Kidney Fund hands out information and Sanford Brown Medical Assisting students do blood pressure checks and process urinalysis tests as needed. Pharmacy Tech students educate the public by creating and distributing a kidney health pamphlet. This fall there are five health fairs we are doing together. More than 50 students will be taking part in the service learning. Sanford Brown Hillside has embraced Service Learning wholeheartedly! The students love seeing the difference they are making in the world!
"I have enjoyed working with Jamie Silver, the Sanford Brown students, and the instructors. The students are very professional, friendly, caring, and helpful. Their willingness to volunteer their time to help the American Kidney Fund and join the fight for Kidney disease is inspiring. I look forward to working Sanford Brown in the future!" says Gatanya Arnic of the American Kidney Fund.
