Alumni Back by Popular Demand: Kristen Lamprich and Nick McNee are all smiles after the Q&A session drill down

The Grand Rapids Career Services Team is very active on campus and host activities intended to engage students as well as promote professional development. From Employer Spotlights, Mock Interviews, GradPower Seminars, Job Fairs and campus collaborations to include Student Appreciation Week; students become to know that the CS team is about helping them prepare for the real job world.

Of the various activities held at the campus employer spotlight sessions have become very popular and well attended events.  However, just as popular have been new spotlight sessions featuring recent grads and dynamic alumni wanting to give back and share their experiences.

The first Alumni Spotlight session held this past April 2012 was such a great success that students, faculty and staff requested encore sessions. Attributable to the popular demand distinguished grads have graciously accepted invitations to speak at the campus. The ‘Back by Popular Demand’ sessions are now regularly scheduled events and a great opportunity for students to connect lessons learned with real experiences. For alumni to give their time is more than commendable; they have become role models and true-to-life examples for current students. The campus sincerely appreciates their willingness to give back. They are making a difference by impacting lives.
