Sanford Brown Tampa Conga CalienteOn Sunday, November 3rd, seven staff members and nine students from the SBI Tampa campus participated in Tampa’s premiere festival, Conga Caliente, which celebrates all Hispanic Arts and cultures from around the world.

This was the first time the campus was a part of the popular event, and the Conga was indeed Caliente for Sanford-Brown!

The objective for the event was to reconnect with the Tampa Bay Latin community, and at the end of the day, 262 people had stopped by the campus tents to spin the “wheel of fortune,” of which 102 people requested additional information about the school and its programs.

Others enjoyed complimentary seated massages offered by the school’s team of fantastic Massage Therapy students who were on hand for a service learning opportunity. In addition, two students in the Pharmacy Technician program manned a booth for Tampa’s Poison Control office, providing information on the dangers of prescription medication abuse, as well as other valuable information offered through the Poison Control Hotline.

All in all, the event was a tremendous success, and the campus plans to be part of the festival in the future.
