In celebration of Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month the DMU and CVT students in the day, evening, and weekend classes celebrated together, shared stories, and practiced their scanning skills on each other. Students and faculty were given sonography tote bags, buttons, lanyards, and pens. A fantastic cake that was made by one of the DMU students featuring a sculpted gel bottle and ultrasound transducer made of fondant – photo attached.
During the evening celebration, Dae Pickerell, a Clinical Applications Specialist from GE Healthcare gave a presentation about emerging Ultrasound Technology to the students, and provided the school with posters for the lecture room and scanning lab. She also explained the role of an Applications Specialist and how that could be a potential career path for the students.
