Sanford Brown College-San Antonio is serving the community in what the campus is calling “Healthy Hearts and Happy Homes”, a string of volunteer activities held between May 18th-22nd that will help community members maintain either a healthy heart or a feeling of hope for people that are currently without a home.
During those five days, more than 50 students and staff members will participate in six community service activities, helping four different non-profits and assisting more than 500 community members including an entire single family.
The enthusiasm to give-back in such a way was inspired by the campuses’ accrediting body, ACICS and its WeSERVE (for Students Empowered To Respond and Volunteer) that takes place the week of May 21st at schools and their communities across the country.
“For Sanford Brown in San Antonio, it is important to be part of WeSERVE week because it provides an opportunity to further practice our Service Learning and community service values in our city and also build on the community within our accrediting body,” said Byrdie Franco-Rocha, director of community and alumni outreach.

Welcome to your future. Welcome to Sanford-Brown.
