Sanford Brown Institute New York Students and Faculty Recognized for Dedication and Achievement

Four students at Sanford-Brown Institute – New York were honored this past weekend for exemplary science paper submissions in the New York State Society of the American Medical Technologists (NYSSAMT) Student Writing Contest. Recipients included Ms. Sunhara Bueno (“Stem Cell Ethical Issues”), Ms. Charisse Peace (“Obstetric Fistula: A Health and Social Issue Affecting Women”), Ms. Ivette Quinones (“Psoriasis”) and Ms. Catherine Zoffinger (“Muscular Dystrophy”).
Additionally, NYSSAMT Officers and Board of Directors presented the Service Award to Sanford-Brown Institute – New York for its dedication, mentoring and guidance to the students.
“Sanford Brown Institute in New York City has continued to mentor and motivate their students, challenging their abilities and guiding them to high level of career preparation. They take great pride in their student achievement,” said Louella Clark, Editor of The AMT New Yorker, the official publication of the NYSSAMT.
The award ceremony was held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the New York Hospital in Queens during the NYSSAMT Seminar Conference. Dr. Joseph Balatbat, Vice President of Academics, and Dr. Cem Basar, MA Program Director, attended to accept the award on behalf of SBI-New York.
