More than 150 students, faculty and staff from Sanford-Brown Institute – New York participated in the Walk MS 2010 fundraiser on Sunday, April 18 to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The team, known as the Steppers, walked a three mile course starting at the South Street Seaport and continued through the lower portion of Manhattan. The Steppers raised more than $1,400 through fundraising events such as selling MS bracelets and raffling off goody baskets.
“We walked to do something for the people who have been diagnosed and because we want to do everything to prevent more people from learning what it means to live with Multiple Sclerosis,” said Daniel Lenzo, Sanford-Brown Institute – New York President. “Today, there is no cure for MS, and with a diagnosis occurring most frequently between the ages of 20 and 50, many individuals face a lifetime filled with unpredictability.”
