On May 15, more than 50 employees and students from SBI – Garden City participated in the annual Ronald McDonald House of Long Island Walk. In addition to our school walking, past and current guests of the house participated. SBI - Garden City's involvement doubled the amount of registrants for the walk, making it one of the most successful fund raising walks for the Long Island Ronald McDonald House. Students, faculty and staff from all programs, as well as the entire weekend CVT class participated in the walk. More than $3,000 was raised for the organization!
The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is a ‘home-away-from- home’ for families who are caring for seriously ill children undergoing medical treatment in area hospitals. Located on the campus of Schneider Children’s Hospital, the house accommodates families in a warm and supportive environment. Since opening in 1986, approximately 14,000 families from the United States and more than 80 countries around the world have been served. Many of the families are from Queens, Suffolk and Nassau Counties, as well as the surrounding metropolitan area.
Congratulations to everyone at SBI – Garden City for your hard work and commitment to the community!
