Sanford-Brown College Names President of Tinley Park Campus

Lawrence McGhee, a Native of Tinley Park, Brings Extensive Higher Education Experience to the New Campus Opening in April

Sanford-Brown College (SBC) has named Lawrence McGhee the president of the Tinley Park, Illinois campus. McGhee will serve as the first president at SBC – Tinley Park which opens on April 19, 2010. The school will be offering programs in the healthcare industry, including Medical Assistant, Medical Billing and Coding, Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Cardiovascular Sonography.

McGhee will oversee the day-to-day campus operations, admissions and recruitment, while ensuring a student-centered learning environment. He will also work with faculty to develop new programs and foster excellence among students and staff.

“Lawrence brings a diverse higher education management resume to Sanford-Brown College,” stated Tom O’Donnell, vice president of the Start Up Division, Career Education Corporation. “He has a deep understanding of higher education management and can provide the faculty and students of Sanford-Brown the leadership and experience needed to succeed.”

McGhee is a native of Tinley Park and the surrounding Chicagoland region. He attended H.L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn where he played basketball and baseball. He went on to attend Northern Illinois University, before graduating Judson University in Elgin, IL. He also has an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Colorado Technical University.

McGhee joins Sanford-Brown from International Academy of Design and Technology where he most recently served as Director of Operations. Additional experience includes management positions with Colorado Technical University and American InterContinental University.

“Sanford-Brown College will offer the Tinley Park area a great outlet for education and career training in the healthcare field,” said McGhee. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to lead the staff as we launch this new campus and I’m dedicated to creating a quality learning environment that leads to fulfilling careers for our students.”
