The Ronald McDonald House provides a “home-away-from-home” for families of seriously-ill children traveling to St. Louis for medical treatment. The facility has grown from an eight bedroom facility in 1981, to now include two houses, eight extended-stay apartments, and three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms – one at St. John’s Mercy Children’s Hospital, one at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and one at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medial Center. The Ronald McDonald House provides comfort, care and lodging for up to 39 families every day of the year.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Metro St. Louis will soon open the third Ronald McDonald House in St. Louis and the 300th in the world on the campus of St. John’s Mercy Children’s Hospital. This 3-story, 20 bedroom House will enable RMHC to serve an additional 750 families per year. Ronald McDonald Houses provide delicious meals, warm beds, hot showers, and other comforts of home to families of seriously-ill children being treated at local hospitals.
