The students and faculty of Sanford-Brown College – Cleveland are donating more than $1500 worth of toys and supplies to the new Ronald McDonald Family Room opening at MetroHealth Medical Center. The room will open Wednesday, April 7 on the Towers fourth floor near the Department of Pediatrics. MetroHealth will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. on April 7.
The students held various fundraisers in March to raise money for purchasing toys, while faculty and staff donated additional supplies. Donations were comprised of toys (approximately 400) and supplies for children of many ages, including child size furniture, DVDs, a doll house, a play kitchen, board games, toddler toys, cars and much more. All of items collected will be provided for the patients and their families that visit MetroHealth Medical Center.
“We hope these toys and supplies bring joy to hundreds of families in the Cleveland area with children at MetroHealth,” stated Christine Koch, President of Sanford-Brown College – Cleveland. “I am very proud of the generosity of the students and faculty in our efforts to support Ronald McDonald House.”
Career Education Corporation, the parent company of Sanford-Brown College, selected Ronald McDonald House Charities as its national charity partner of choice in 2009. The Cleveland campus will continue to support the needs of Ronald McDonald House through volunteering and donations.
