SBI New York City Romeo Pastor Receives Educator of the Year Finalist Nomination

Romeo Pastor and Patricia TrippDr. Romeo Pastor is no stranger to the SB New York City community. He is in fact their longest tenured staff member. Career Education Corp conducted it’s annual process to select the most talented and influential teachers across their fleet of school this past month. For the last 13 years, Career education has celebrated the success of their faculty with the Educator of the Year awards. Career Education, with over 80 campuses worldwide, has over 6,000 instructors. After receiving more than 600 nominations, a selection committee narrowed the field to 12 finalists spread over 4 categories. When the dust settled, Dr. Pastor was one of these special teachers honored in the category of Instruction.

Dr. Pastor, the current Program Chair of the Cardiovascular Technology program at SB New York, is widely recognized on campus as an inspirational faculty member, always with a positive spirit, and introducing humor in his learning methods. Romeo has been the Program Chair for the Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound program as well in his history at the school and has more than 15 years of dedicated service to the SB mission. Campus President Gary Apito expressed his feelings toward Dr Pastor… “Positive spirit, technical knowledge, and passion for his students are all top qualities of Dr. Pastor. We are very blessed to have him teaching at our school.”

The school will conduct it’s annual commencement ceremony next week and Dr. Pastor has been chosen to be the Grand Marshall of the festivities. He will lead in the faculty and administration for the graduation in their march to the stage at Hunter College where close to 2,500 students, parents, and guests will join to celebrate.
