Sanford-Brown Institute - Ft. Lauderdale loves their four legged, furry and feathered friends!
In honor of National Pet Month, SBI-Ft. Lauderdale hosted a month-long pet supply drive to benefit the Humane Society of Broward County. More than 180 items were collected, all thanks to the generosity of the students, staff and faculty. Every single item from their wish list was received and donated to help make the animals more comfortable while they are waiting for their loving, forever home.
The Humane Society of Broward County provides shelter, aid and responsible adoptions to all animals entrusted to their care, and educates the community about respect and kindness to all animals. More than 10,000 animals are adopted from the Humane Society of Broward County every year! Donations are vital to the Humane Society of Broward County as they receive no direct funding from the government, United Way or any national group with a similar name.
SBI -Ft. Lauderdale’s Student Ambassadors Michele Alonso, Katherine Cutino and Jennifer Williams recently went to the Humane Society of Broward County to drop off the donated items, and got to meet with Independence, a 2-year-old Rottweiler who greatly appreciated the donation of Milk-Bones!
