Students measure their performance by the results gained from their tests and subsequent knowledge, schools measure their performance by the quality of the educators and staff that support the curriculums established. One such success can be attributed to our own Mr. Angel Cabrera, who has through diligent research, hard work, and endless perseverance and dedication to his duties accomplished finding his 500th Student Externship Site. Angel own story begins with...
"My name is Angel Cabrera, and I am an alumni of Sanford-Brown Iselin of both the Cardiovascular Technology and Surgical Technology programs. I am also a certified EKG technician. I worked in the field for many years, and now I hold the Clinical Site Manager position at the Iselin campus. I have secured over 500 clinical sites to date for the Medical Assistant program. It is my role, along with Donna Fiducia and Elizabeth Reilly, to ensure the externship is a success for each student. I take pride in working here, and ensuring that our Medical Assistants get a great experience out on their clinical rotation. It is my responsibility to go out into the field, procure new sites, ensure the physicians and professionals know what is expected of them and what is expected of the students, and also check up on students while they are out on their rotation, in addition to always be scouting for new clinical sites. I have been with the company for 5 years, and I have seen it grow and prosper, which is another reason I am proud to be part of this team. We place over 500 students in the field per year, with those numbers growing by leaps and bounds. I can perhaps sum up my experience by saying we learn by example which I always try to bring to the students and by direct experience because there are limits to the adequacy of verbal instruction."
