The campus geared up to Give Back! A week long clothes drive in partnership with the Salvation Army was a great success. The InfoFest, a mid-week celebration hosted Wednesday, October 19 was a collaboration of over 13 community organizations. Event highlights include Medical Assistant students and program faculty checking the pulse of the community; and Cardiovascular Sonography, Medical Billing & Coding with Veterinary Technology students and faculty premiered info-displays and warm welcomes.
In addition to the drive and fest the Best Dressed Bag Contest will be a commendable accomplishment. This activity was an opportunity to support the efforts of the Kids Food Basket; a non-profit organization seeking to combat childhood hunger in the metro area. The goal was a 1% contribution to the Kids Food Basket (http://www.kidsfoodbasket.org/); approximately 200 supper sacks for deserving children. The campus met the goal!
The contest winners for the most dressed and best bags decorated collectively were Mrs. Tricia Meek and Class. 72 glitzy bags were entered! Way to go ALH 122 students, Janell Moss, Candace Crump, Katie Grieves, Kendall Scholten, Fonda Belton, Rhonda Nelson, Latonya Ali, Ashleigh Underwood, Rebecca O'Leary, Maribeth Triemstra. A big thank you to Mrs. Meek and Class; to everyone that participated a special thanks! [Source: Robin Selmon (Director of Community and Alumni Outreach)]
