SBC Dallas Dental Assisting Student Engagement

The Dental Assisting program, including all faculty and students, promotes engagement in the campus and the wider Dallas community. Students participate in field trips each week, coinciding with the content they are learning in the classroom. In the past two weeks, the students visited Bryan’s House and Circle of Support and provided dental hygiene instruction, answered questions about maintaining good dental health, and handed out gift bags of supplies. Two additional events are currently planned: a visit to Le Cordon Bleu and a visit to Bentley, a senior assisted living facility.  Through these events, Dental Assisting students actively promote proper dental care and good health to a diverse population. These excursions are the first time the Dental Assisting students have been engaged in
the community, and the students are excited to serve as role models.
