We had representatives from the American Lung Association, Choice One – Pregnancy & Sexual Health Resource Centers, LA Fitness, and Dr. Katie Samsel for Gorman Optimal Health Solutions along with one of her staff members, Brian that attended and gave massages and muscle weakness screenings to our students, staff and the community.
Our students performed 65 blood pressures, glucose and cholesterol screenings, eye examinations and the DMS and CVS students performed over 65 ultrasounds as well! Our students also had tables set up for dental awareness, Medicare Calculations, Common Healthcare Insurance Terminology, and Insurance Plan Types Made Easy and there was even an EYE DISSECTION demonstration! The Paramedic students presented the File of Life to our students and community which is a detailed informational packet that the person fills out and places on their refrigerator at home and the EMS community knows to go to that packet to get vital information about the patient if an emergency arises and 911 is called.
