Dr. Meher Masood

Educational Background:

Medical Degree in 1996 from the University of Karachi, Pakistan
Her residency training was in Anesthesiology and the Surgical ICU. In 2004, Dr. Masood received her Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration from Webster University, St Louis MO.

Work Experience:

Dr. Masood is a full-time faculty member in the Medical Assisting program at Sanford-Brown College.

Name:

Mr. Steven Parker

Educational Background:

He holds a bachelor degree in both Psychology and Sociology from the University of Massachusetts, as well as a Masters of Business Administration with a focus on Healthcare Administration (MBAHA) from New England College.

Work Experience:

Mr. Parker is a 9-year veteran of the United States Army, where he worked as a Healthcare Specialist and Combat Medic, and trained with a Scout Platoon and Forward Medical Cache. While serving, he earned his EMT certification, and taught many soldiers in healthcare specialties and basic life support (BLS). Upon leaving the military, Mr. Parker worked in the hospital environment as both a Critical Care Technician (CCT) and an Emergency Room Technician (ERT). Mr. Parker teaches as part of the Medical Assisting program, and he is functions as the Online Advocate and Portal Administrator for Sanford-Brown College.

Mr. James Shafer

Educational Background:

His degree is a Bachelor of Science Pre Medicine & Zoology, received from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. He became registered with the ARDMS in 1989, and is dual-registered with Cardiovascular Credentialing International in both cardiac and vascular sonography.

Work Experience:

FMr. Shafer is the Program Chair for the CVS program at Sanford-Brown College. He possesses 24 years of ultrasound experience, including 17 years of teaching experience. Mr. Shafer earned his education at an offshore medical school, and practiced vascular and echo ultrasound in the clinical setting before becoming an educator in 1993.

Mrs. Vanessa Frick

Educational Background:

Mrs. Frick holds a Bachelor's Degree in Health Education and Community Health.

Work Experience:

Mrs. Frick is the Program Chair for the DMS program at Sanford-Brown College. She possesses over 20 years of experience in the healthcare environment, with skills in radiology, general sonography, vascular technology, and phlebotomy. She has also been ARDMS Registered since 1991 in Abdomen and Ob/Gyn. Mrs. Frick is a member of both the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and the Society of Vascular Technology.

John Rezentes

Educational Background:

Mr. Rezentes holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Louis University, and Masters Degree, from Maryville University.

Work Experience:

Mr. Rezentes is a General Education faculty member at Sanford-Brown College, teaching Biology and Sciences. He began teaching biology in 1989, as he has a love for the body of science that is broad, impacting everything from diet to environment. Teaching Biology gives Mr. Rezentes an opportunity to share with students the ways in which the study of life-sciences can lead to an enriched life.

Mrs. Vida Elizondo-Torres

Educational Background:

Mrs. Elizondo-Torres is dual-certified as both a Registered Medical Assistant, which she earned from San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assisting, and Certified Professional Coder.

Work Experience:

Mrs. Elizondo-Torres teaches in both the Medical Assistant and Medical Billing & Coding programs at Sanford-Brown College. She has been in the education environment for ten years, during which time she has taught in several career institutes. Classes she has instructed include administrative and clinical courses for Medical Assistants, such as billing and coding, phlebotomy, and electrocardiograms.
