SBI-Pittsburgh - Career and Job Fair Event April 20 & April 23

April 20, 2011

The Career Services Department of SBI-Pittsburgh will be conducting a Career & Job Fair Wednesday, April 20 and Saturday, April 23.

When:
April 20th & April 23rd

Time:
The Wednesday 4/20 Fair will have 2 sessions:
8:30AM -12:00PM and 3:30PM - 7:00PM

Time:
The Saturday 4/23 session will run from
9:00AM - 12:00PM

In this way, all SBI Day, Evening & Weekend students will have a chance to participate and meet with potential employers. School-sponsored career fairs are popular for recruiting entry level employees. They allow corporate recruiters to screen many prospects in the shortest amount of time. Employers quickly evaluate candidates based on appearance, communication skills and first impressions. This is an ideal opportunity to start networking and making new contacts, which is vital to any job search.

Career Services stresses that you look your very best and that you treat the 2-minute greeting with each employer as an actual interview. Think of each interview as a 60-second commercial about yourself; practice your ‘commercial’ at home till you are fully confident about it, and remember to use confident body.

Be sure to have several copies of your resume and references with you. Bring multiple copies of any licenses or certifications if they are applicable to a job you want to apply for. And be prepared to complete an application form at the Career Fair.

If you need help creating or updating your resume, be sure to make an immediate appointment with Jose, Deb or Paula in Career Services.

They are there to help you prepare for the Career Fair and your future career!
