SBI-Pittsburgh Campus Gives Back on Give Back Day
October 20, 2010
Come join our Give Back Day event as our students & faculty at SBI-Pittsburgh participate in giving back to the community. How will you give back?
Give Back activities include:
- Blood drive
- Pet therapy
- “Legal runners" a downtown women's shelter
- Work with TRICL (Three Rivers Independent Center for Living)
- Massages
- Partnering up with the Light of Life Mission, local homeless shelter
We will have 8-10 students from each program that will be participating. All participation will be under the supervision of either a PD or a member of the management team.
CEC health schools, Sanford-Brown and the MA department will be sponsoring a blood drive at the school. The VET TECH program will take rescue dogs to a local senior center for pet therapy, as well as sponsoring a food drive to donate to the shelter. Both the school and the public will participate. The Paralegal program will partner with the downtown women’s shelter as “legal runners.” These will be supervised by the Paralegal instructors. The DMS and RAD students will work with TRICL (Three Rivers Independent Center for Living). They will provide services and/or assist handicapped residents. The MT program will donate chair massages at an off-site senior center, as well as offering free chair massages to the public here at the school. The AT & DT students will partner with the Light of Life Mission, which is a local homeless shelter.
Volunteer a few hours of your time – it can make a big difference to our communities, and to you!
