SBI Jacksonville – Survivors of a Hurricane Disaster
This exhibit will be a live demonstration of “pretend victims of a Hurricane disaster being treated here at Sanford Brown!
This demonstration will begin at 10:30 with our “victims arriving through the front door, either on a gurney or wailing in to be triaged. They will then be transported to our registration center. (MBC lab)
They will then migrate to the Trauma Center (Nursing lab) and depending on the nature of their injury and how serious will be admitted for surgery in the OR ( Surg. Tech lab). The students and guests will see how career skills are applied in this instance as they are trained through our MA, MBC, Nursing, ST and more.

They will also have an opportunity to listen to guest speakers from the American Red Cross and the Jacksonville Emergency Services. This will be a very exciting event to witness, with audience participation from our guests, alumni and current students.
Of course refreshments will be served after all our victims are healed!!
