February is a month to celebrate those you love, and there is no one you should love more than yourself. Unfortunately, it’s easy to push health screenings to the bottom of a to-do list, but Sanford-Brown-Ft. Lauderdale is making it easy for local residents to access valuable health screenings at a FREE community health fair on campus. Open to the general public, the school will offer a variety of FREE medical services provided by Sanford-Brown medical and veterinary students, including:
- Free Medical Screenings for blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol and more.
- Free, confidential HIV testing courtesy of Holy Cross Hospital.
- Free and low cost mammograms, courtesy of Memorial Regional Hospital’s Mobile Mammography Van.
- You must call (954) 276-5595 prior to the event to schedule an appointment for the mammogram and meet certain criteria.
- And much more!
Sanford-Brown veterinary technician students will provide health services for canine and feline companions. The Feel Good Clinic will administer rabies, DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parvo, parainfluenza), bordatella, and DRCP (felines only) vaccinations for $10 each and will clean ears and trim nails for $5.
All proceeds from the Feel Good Clinic will benefit the SPCA Wildlife Care Center in Fort Lauderdale and the Shy Wolf Sanctuary in Naples.
