Sanford-Brown Institute-Fort Lauderdale will be holding our First Annual Give Back Day on October 20th, 2010! Students will have the opportunity to help provide vital services to those in need. Volunteer a few hours of your time – it can make a big difference to our communities, and to you!

Students and Staff will provide health screening to the local community around the Poverello Center. Students of the Medical Assistant program with the guidance of their instructors and program director will be providing health screenings that consist of:

  1. Height
  2. Weight
  3. Cholesterol Screening
  4. Triglyceride Screening
  5. Glucose Screening

Students from the Dental Assisting program will provide toothbrushes and toothpaste as well as a demonstration on proper oral hygiene.

The school and Hope Worldwide, South Florida will also be asking for donations of clothing and other items be donated to be sold at The Poverello Center so that the proceeds could assist in their continuing to provide services to the community of Wilton Manors.

About Poverello Center
Poverello Center is primarily a volunteer organization dedicated to meeting the nutritional needs of its clients through the distribution of free groceries and clothing from its food bank. The area around the center is considered one of the more economically impoverished in the Ft Lauderdale area.
