About the Speaker: Ken Trachy co-founded the Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency in 1978, arriving from Minnesota with colleagues, where he was an educator with the Kidney Foundation of the Upper Midwest. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1974. He also founded and served as executive director of the Kidney Foundation of South Florida from 1979 to 1982. Mr. Trachy served for twenty-one years as director of education with Life Alliance, supervising a staff of five, including two minority educators. He has also served as the supervisor for Florida Statewide Organ and Tissue Donor Program’s Minority Demonstration Project and as supervisor for the Minority Organ and Tissue Education Program. Mr. Trachy was responsible for developing education strategies, materials, and creating public relations campaigns for multicultural audiences throughout South Florida. He also developed curriculum materials for medical and nursing students and seminars for healthcare professionals.
