Polysomnography
Sleep is essential for our health and well-being. But many people do not get enough sleep or the right kind of sleep. Polysomnographers perform sleep studies that help physicians diagnose and treat sleep disorders such as insomnia (chronic sleeplessness), narcolepsy (deep daytime fatigue), sleep apnea (breathing stops repeatedly during sleep) and many others.
Sanford Brown's Polysomnograph program will teach you to use a variety of electronic monitoring devices to record a patient's brain and cardiac activity, eye and muscle movement and more – while they sleep. Along with technological skills, our polysomnograpy training will teach you to prepare patients before their sleep study, answer their questions afterward and help physicians evaluate treatment methods.
