Much of the vital work of disease detection, diagnosis and treatment happens in the lab without the patient present. This program is designed to teach you to prepare blood, urine and tissue specimens for analysis and to analyze the chemical content of fluids using microscopes, computers and sophisticated laboratory equipment that can detect bacteria, parasites and other microorganisms. In addition to learning to use this complex equipment, you'll also be taught to maintain and troubleshoot it.
If you're looking for a responsible healthcare position that does not involve direct patient care, this could be an ideal career choice for you.
