Sanford-Brown Pittsburgh Massage Therapy Students and Faculty Offer Free Massages On Tax Day

WHAT: To provide a little relief from the worries and stress of tax season, students from the Massage Therapist program at Sanford-Brown Institute (SBI) – Pittsburgh will be offering free, 20-minute chair massages to the public at the corner of 7th and William Penn Place (adjacent to August Wilson Cultural Center) on April 15 from 8am to 8pm. The participating students are in the clinical phase of their education, so they have training in massage, as well as experience performing massages. Licensed Sanford-Brown Institute faculty members will be on hand to supervise the student therapists, as well as give massages.
SBI - Pittsburgh offers a challenging massage therapy program, requiring 900 hours of classroom time and clinical work in order to graduate. The program offers training in therapeutic massage principles, hydrotherapy and allied therapeutic modalities, including massage techniques, the application of water, heat, cold, topical preparations and external devices.
