Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer to deliver key note speech at May 14 ceremony
NEW YORK, NY (May 11, 2010) - Sanford-Brown Institute – New York will honor the class of 2010 in a special graduation ceremony on Friday, May 14. More than 400 students will cross the stage and receive certificates in various healthcare fields including Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Technology, Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, Medical Assistant, Medical Billing and Coding and Pharmacy Technician.
Manhattan Borough President Scott M. Stringer will deliver the keynote speech at Friday’s ceremony. Borough President Stringer is a longtime healthcare advocate. Working with the Bloomberg Administration, his dedication led to the creation of the East Harlem Asthma Center of Excellence, a facility that opened in 2008 with the goal of reducing asthma hospitalizations uptown by 50 percent over three years.
"I am honored to be part of this special celebration," said Stringer. "The demand for trained healthcare professionals is only growing in our city. The Sanford-Brown Institute, with its dedicated and passionate student body, is really leading the way in meeting this critical need."
