Sanford-Brown College-Grand Rapids Veterinary Technology Program Receives American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Provisional Accreditation
Grand Rapids Campus offers the only AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology Program in the Greater Grand Rapids Area
GRAND RAPIDS, MICH., MAY 17, 2012 – Sanford-Brown College-Grand Rapids has announced that its Veterinary Technology program has recently received provisional accreditation from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). By achieving this accreditation, Sanford-Brown graduates are now able to take the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) and the State of Michigan License Board Examination.
The Veterinary Technology program at SBC-Grand Rapids provides a comprehensive education focused on classroom learning as well as hands-on, real life experience in order to help students become trusted players on any veterinary healthcare team.
“Our academic standards enable students to gain the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence they need in order to pursue careers in allied health fields,” said Derek J. McBeth, Campus President, of SBC-Grand Rapids. “The AVMA distinction is a crucial step in providing students the tools they need to succeed after graduation.”
The Veterinary Technology program at SBC-Grand Rapids is one of two accredited programs in Western Michigan. The AVMA has only accredited 191 programs to date.
