Sanford-Brown Institute-Fort Lauderdale Cardiovascular Sonography Program Receives CAAHEP Accreditation

Fort Lauderdale Campus offers CAAHEP Accredited Cardiovascular Sonography Program in South Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. April 9, 2012 – Sanford-Brown Institute (SBI)-Fort Lauderdale has announced that its cardiovascular sonography program has recently received Adult Echocardiography accreditation from the Committee on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Cardiovascular Technology. By achieving this accreditation, Sanford-Brown students are now able to sit for their Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Exam offered by the ARDMS upon completing their course work and graduation. Florida does not currently require technicians to be registered in order to work in the state, but most employers strongly prefer this credential.  

The cardiovascular sonography program at SBI-Fort Lauderdale provides a comprehensive education focused on classroom learning as well as hands-on, real life experience in order to help students become trusted players on any heart healthcare team.

The cardiovascular sonography program at SBI-Fort Lauderdale is one of six Associate-level programs in Florida and one of the only programs in South Florida to earn this accreditation. CAAHEP accredits over 2,000 programs in 23 health sciences professions and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
